Therapy For Self-Esteem + Identity

Virtual Therapy Available Throughout California, Massachusetts, New Jersey + Indiana

Maybe you are trying to figure out who you are, feeling pressure to fit in or stand out, second-guessing your choices, or measuring yourself against expectations that never seem to stop moving. You may look capable on the outside while privately feeling insecure, disconnected, or unsure of what actually feels like you.

Self-esteem and identity can be shaped by relationships, family, school, work, culture, social media, achievement, appearance, and the roles you have learned to play. Over time, it can become difficult to separate your own voice from everyone else’s opinions and expectations.

Therapy for self-esteem and identity can give you space to understand what has shaped the way you see yourself, challenge patterns that keep you small or self-critical, and build a stronger relationship with who you are.

This is a space to get curious about yourself without judgment, make room for the parts of you that are still unfolding, and feel more grounded in a sense of self that is truly your own.

We live in a world that constantly teaches us who is acceptable, desirable, worthy, or allowed to take up space, and who is not. It is no wonder so many of us learn to question, edit, hide, or reject parts of ourselves to survive, feel safe, included, or understood. Therapy can be a place to interrupt that cycle: to unlearn what was never yours to carry, reclaim your belonging, and build a relationship with yourself rooted in dignity, and self-respect.

Meet Your Therapist

Hi, I’m Dr. Angelica.

I’ve spent more than a decade supporting people who want to feel more comfortable being themselves rather than a more impressive, polished, or acceptable version of who they think they should be.

As both a psychotherapist and certified fashion stylist, I support the many ways identity gets expressed and explored from the way we relate to others to the clothes we choose, the communities we belong to, and the parts of ourselves we are still discovering.

I know how vulnerable it can feel to talk about confidence, appearance, belonging, identity, comparison, or the parts of yourself you are still trying to understand. You will not find pressure here to “just love yourself,” think positively, or become someone else.

I care deeply about creating a space where you can be curious about who you are, experiment with how you express yourself, and build confidence that feels genuine rather than performed. My hope is that you leave knowing yourself more deeply and needing less permission from the outside world and all it’s many forces, to be who you are.

Does This Sound Like You?

-You can feel good about yourself one minute and completely question yourself after one comment, comparison, rejection, or awkward moment.

-You notice yourself changing depending on who you are around and wonder which version of you is the real one.

-You compare your appearance, personality, relationships, accomplishments, or timeline and almost always find a reason to feel behind.

-You hold back parts of yourself for fear of being judged, excluded, misunderstood, or seen as “too much.”

-You work hard to be liked, capable, successful, easygoing, or impressive, but the confidence never seems to last.

-You want to stop picking yourself apart and feel more secure in who you are, caring for yourself the way you would for a friend.

Together we can work towards uniting your heart and mind so that your inner voice is one you can trust and speak from with confidence.

FAQ

What if you could go from questioning your worth…

…to reclaiming your birthright of being here.

Self-esteem + identity therapy is grounded in the belief that your worth is not something you have to earn, prove, or perform. We can begin by understanding what has shaped the way you see yourself and creating more room to trust, express, and come home to who you are.

I’m here to help you quiet the noise, reconnect with your inner knowing, and move through life with more trust in who you are.

What You Can Expect

Making Sense of Who You Are Now
We’ll explore the parts of your identity that feel clear, changing, hidden, unfamiliar, or still unfolding, without pressure to fit into anyone else’s definition of who you should be.

Creating More Room for the Full You
We can look at the parts of yourself you have learned to minimize, protect, perform, or keep private, and make space for more honesty, emotion, self-expression, and self-acceptance.

Feeling More Aligned in How You Live
Together, we can explore how forms of oppression shaped what you learned was safe, acceptable, or possible, and get to know what it would be like to have a life that feels truly your own.

You do not have to wait until things feel unbearable to ask for support.
